I am originally from Springfield, Missouri and have enjoyed magic since I was kid. I got my first magic set when I was in 7th grade.

I was once asked to come on stage during a magic act and put my head in this guillotine illusion. I remember being petrified thinking what if this trick doesn't work? Well I'm still here! I started doing magic more in 1995 when I worked for a video production company duplicating magic videos for a magic shop. It was an hour long video that told you how to do many tricks. I usually didn't watch the videos but I noticed it was magic tricks and I was hooked ever since.

The first trick I ever did was a chop cup, where a ball inside a cup would vanish and reappear when covered. My favorite trick of all is a trick called origami box where a girl climbs into a box on a cart. The box is then folded, and folded, and folded into the size of 1 1/2 foot square box. Then swords are inserted and removed and then unfolded back to full size and then the girl reappears unharmed.

I would like to reach the point where I can do big stage shows or at least be a full time magician and travel the world. I prefer to do stage magic but I am interested in getting into more close-up and mentalism tricks as these are more amazing and harder for the audience to figure out. I love the energy and atmosphere when on stage. I like to see the look in the eyes of the audience and see that spark that I had as a kid.

There's just something fun and entertaining about magic. It dates all the way back to the days of Pharaoh. People thought they had magical powers. It was either show them how the trick worked or die a witch's death which meant being burned alive or drowned. If you did in fact give up the secret you were finished as a performer because everyone would know how it worked.

Today the secrets are still a closely guarded. But anyone can learn magic with the help of dvd's from magic shops like the one I watched or by reading magic books also available from magis shops. I love performing and doing magic it's the greatest job in the world.
